Goodbye Dear Friend!

One of the events I have looked forward to the most as I have been planning my trip to Scotland was to pay a visit to a very special lady. Shortly before I retired as a school teacher, I had been searching for an epal from Scotland. My search was not a typical epal search. Instead, I looked up the Baptist denomination and sent a request for a pastor's wife close to my age.  That search led me to a lovely lady who was a pastor's wife and mother of 4 children.  Just like me.  We have been corresponding for quite some time and she has been a joy to get to know.

But yesterday I read a Facebook post from her daughter about my friend's passing and I had to accept the fact that meeting her here on this earth was not going to be part of my dream.  I take comfort in knowing that while I won't get to see her when I go to Scotland, I will get to see her when I go to heaven.

A Better Clip!

Just bear with me, but in working a little more I was able to post a better clip of the bagpipes playing Scotland the Brave at the Kirken ceremony.  I've gotten a little more experience with this You Tube thing and found a better video in iPhoto so I posted it as well.  Thanks for bearing with me on this. Live and Learn, uh!

On this one you actually get to see the pipers! Yea!
